Welcome! I’m Michelle Oldford, and I started The Bookkeeping Mom to help small business owners feel confident, supported, and in control of their finances—without feeling overwhelmed by the numbers.
In 2015, I launched my own business, specializing in small business bookkeeping and income tax preparation, and payroll support. I understand the unique challenges small business owners face, and I focus on providing customized, practical solutions that make managing finances easier and more efficient.
Prior to starting my business, I spent ten years working at a CPA firm, where I prepared personal and corporate income tax returns, provided bookkeeping services, and assisted with payroll processing for a wide range of clients. During that time, I also completed college-level accounting coursework, strengthening both my technical knowledge and practical skills. This extensive hands-on experience gave me a deep understanding of accounting principles, tax compliance, and small business financial management—knowledge that I now bring to every client to provide expert, reliable guidance.
To ensure my clients receive reliable and up-to-date guidance, I attend annual continuing education seminars to stay current with changing tax laws and accounting best practices.
I use modern accounting and tax software to provide secure file transfers and offer all services in a fully digital format, making it convenient to work together no matter where you’re located.
As a mom of three, I value organization, efficiency, and clear communication—and I bring those same values to every client relationship.
